A heartfelt romance set at the start of the first World War. Caught in a sudden thunderstorm, Mary and Charlie dart into a barn to find shelter-- and find each other. As they wait out the rain, love sparks, then flourishes as only first love can. But the war approaches, and Mary and Charlie must surrender their fate to the uncertainties of tumultuous times. A haunting love story and a riveting tale of war, remembrance and the sacrifice made by soldiers at home and in the battlefield.

He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she's a free spirit always up for adventure. An odd couple, perhaps?
